Giants take advantage of miscues

Lawrence Taylor and Leonard Marshall both returned fumbles for touchdowns as the 1986 New York Giants defeated the 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers 31-28 in a Week 9 matchup.

Pittsburgh running back Rocky Bleier rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns, but his fourth-quarter fumble that Taylor scooped up and ran in from 37 yards out gave the Giants a 31-21 lead.

In the first quarter, Terry Bradshaw fumbled a snap and defensive end Leonard Marshall eventually picked up the loose ball for a 17-yard touchdown that gave the Giants a 7-0 lead.

Mark Bavaro had eight catches for 135 yards and touchdown for the Giants (5-4). Franco Harris added 70 yards on the ground for the Steelers (3-6).
